This article describes the experimential study of fluid flows
(discharge coefficient and Reynolds number) of intake and
exhaust throttles of rectangular and segmented shape for spool
hydraulic valves of electro hydraulic amplifiers with thimbles. The
basis for this study is the Buckingham π theorem in dimensional
analysis and the method for determining the flow parameters
offered by the author. The experimental installation allowed us to
estimate the pressure parameters of discharge and exhaust cham-
bers, spool hydraulic valves, spool plunger movements and fluid
discharge at the exits of the working and exhaust chambers. By
analyzing the experiential data with computer software the author
determined the angles of efflux and non-dimensional parameters
of fluid flows. The paper offers iteration scheme to calculate non-
dimensional parameters of fluid flows in throttles for spool
hydraulic valves of electro hydraulic amplifiers with thimbles
