A combined physical model of rest sliding friction accounting for mechanical and electromagnetic interaction, is presented. An universal representation of roughness is introduced and expressed by means of unit minute depths of roughness through standard integral roughness parameters. The method is described to determine a maximum rest frictional force. Experimental data verify correctness of rest friction factor calculation through the roughness parameters.
