It is shown that hydrogen permeability and corrosion-fatigue endurance of low-carbon ferrite-pearlite steel and its welded joints are increased after laser and plasma surface treatment if the surface layer structure nonequilibrium in the surface layer is reduced. In this connection, the best properties are those of steel after its plasma treatment without surface flushing.
