Basic points of a technique for optimal design of carter parts for load bearing systems of tractors are considered. The technique allows solving problems with a great number of varied parameters through performing cycles of solving optimizational subproblems with the limited number of varied parameters. An approach is suggested on the basis of designing wall ribs for carters, working in complex loading, which provides the best material redistribution and, accordingly, the mass minimum under some constraints. Using simulation tasks, in which the most important properties of a real object are embodied in finite-element models, the technique implementation is illustrated and the obtained solution is confirmed to be actually optimal.
