On Using Preliminary Braking Impulse in Spacecraft Injection into Orbit of Mars Satellite

Peculiarities of injection of a spacecraft with a low lift-to-drag ratio into a Mars satellite orbit with the help of the aerocapture maneuver are considered taking into account that authentic data on the planet atmosphere characteristics is unavailable. A structure of optimal control is found. The necessity to use the preliminary braking impulse is shown. Results of the mathematic simulation which show the efficiency of applied methods are presented.
