Electromagnetic processes are considered as applied to motors of two types: with discrete control using the one-half-period switching and with continuous control. Expressions are obtained for electromagnetic and consumed power and also equations for determination of values of advance angle of switching and ratio of amplitude of rotary electromotive force and amplitude of phase voltages which provide maximal value of electromagnetic efficiency. It is shown how the obtained results should be used in designing motors for various options of the technical task.
