The peculiarities of electrical-discharge machining of composite po-lycrystallic super-hard materials on the diamond basis are analysed. The method for density calculation of the heat flux necessary for rational machining the materials, among them these containing diamond, is described. Critical density of heat flux necessary for thermal destroying the diamond grains, and duration of its rational application, are determined.
