The study considers the behaviour of various structures subjected to intense impulse (impact) loads occurring during operation of numerous modern buildings, machines and instruments. Impact load testing involves intermediate components located between the object and the impact point, which may be either components of the test object itself or parts of the support system attaching it to the testing facility. Computing parameters of intense impulse loads involves substituting these components by absolutely rigid bodies elastically linked to the test object. This approach is incorrect for a number of cases. In order to obtain a more accurate result, it is necessary to consider these intermediate components as elastic bodies. We conducted experimental investigations and computational simulations and compared their results
