A new linear model of a magnetorheological actuator – basic final-control element of positioning devices with rheological control is given. In the model development some phenomena were taken into account, such as magnetic hysteresis in iron circuit elements, demagnetizing factor, constant magnet in the actuator construction, magnetic parameters of rheological medium as well as its nonlinear behavior. The adequacy of the developed model is confirmed by experimental data.
