The efficiency of using mathematical models of the wheeled vehicle movement depends to a considerable degree on the quality of soil characteristics being entered into the model. The complexity of representation of these characteristics is explained with the influence of a great number of factors on soil deformability parameters. Known mathematical models of the soil deformation are analyzed, beginning from the simplest ones, and the model developed by the authors is considered in detail. The model takes into account the influence of a majority of really acting factors on the soil deformation due to wheels pressure: loads, size and shape of the contact surface, direction of the total strength applied to a wheel, movement velocity.
