Results of experimental study and analysis of mechanisms of thermal destruction of reinforced plastics in heating by radiation are presented. The results can be used in estimating characteristics of the thermal protection system under conditions of powerful radiation streams corresponding to the flying vehicle atmosphere entry with velocities prevailing orbital ones.
