Analysis of Correction of Thermal Deformation in Machine Tools

This article is devoted to the heat deformation of machine tools. Today heat deformation is one of the key and poorly studied reasons of machining inaccuracy appearance. Analysis of current widespread methods of heat deformation correction was carried out. Basic advantages and disadvantages of different methods of diagnostics and eliminating the errors were revealed which take place because of heat deformation of metal-cutting machine-tools. Basic sources of heat emission have been described. These activities will allow to improve performance characteristics of modern metal-cutting machine tools and to increase accuracy for processing on the machines on condition their application in the machines design and within operation of the processing equipment. This is one of the ways to improve the quality of products manufactured in the conditions of modern mechanical engineering production.
