The energy consumption efficiency is estimated in designing a machine on the basis of calculation of the cycle output at steady and transient modes. As a base, an unsteady cycle of the machine operation with switching from speedup to braking is accepted. Based on the analysis of the energy balance of a machine, a general equation of the machine cycle output is derived. A universal technique is offered for choosing an engine power, moment of switching and other parameters of the machine aggregate.
