Calculations of Jamming when Wheel Teeth Tops Stop in the Wave Gear

The wave gear is a kind of the planetary gear with the internal gearing and a small difference in the number of wheel teeth, so the problem of eliminating jamming in the planetary gear is very important for the wave gear as well. High-quality performance of the wave gear can only be obtained in the absence of jamming in the toothing. Therefore, the task of identifying and eliminating jamming in the wave gear at the design stage is essential. The article gives the results of the original theoretical study into jamming in kinematic and power wave gears with disc oscillators of the internal deformation waves and ring oscillators of the external deformation waves. The findings of this study will enable us to eliminate jamming of the wheel teeth in wave gears at the design stage.
