Consequences of the effect of a "stuck" grab are considered for floating cranes used in offshore production. The problem settlement - inclusion of a hydraulic torque converter in the gear of the hoisting mechanism - is given. Requirements to characteristics and construction of this hydraulic torque converter are also formulated.
