The urgency of statement of the problem on synthesis of flat engagements using the criterion of curvature of wheel teeth profiles is substantiated. Based on the mathematical model of flat engagements with constant gear ratio, the algorithm is given for solving the problem with the specified constant curvature. The obtained solutions allow one to perform the analysis of flat lantern gears of general type.
