Method to analyse probability distribution function of failure-free operation for caterpillar transmission, is proposed. This method allows to find the gamma-percent lifetime of the machine already on its design stage. This approach can be applied not only at evaluating the failure-free operation and durability, but also at solving other problems arising at the transmission design and development.
