Yu.A. Zaichenko (b. 1935) graduated from Rostov Institute of Railway Transport Engineering in 1963. Ph. D. (Eng.), director of the engineering center "Splav" of the Ministry of Railways of the Russian Federation. Chief designer of the induction-metallurgical method to restore and harden the rolling stock parts. Author of about 100 publications, 25 patents and 10 author’s certificates in the field of technological grounds for a complex quality control of the highly loaded machine parts surface layer, in order to improve their operational characteristics.
